OUR STORY
It Started With a Game.
It Became Something Much Bigger.
Youth Empowered USA was built on a simple belief: When young people are given the right opportunities, surrounded by people who believe in them, and encouraged to discover what they are capable of, extraordinary things can happen.
Our story began on the football field. Through Youth Empowered NFL FLAG Football, we set out to create an environment where boys and girls could be introduced to the game of football in a way that was safe, organized, competitive, and fun. But from the beginning, the game itself was only part of the mission. We saw football as a vehicle. A vehicle for teaching confidence, character, integrity, teamwork, sportsmanship, resilience, and leadership. A place where children could learn how to compete, how to respond to adversity, how to support a teammate, and how to believe in themselves. As our league grew, something else became increasingly clear: our young people needed and deserved more opportunities beyond the playing field.
From Athletics to Opportunity.
The relationships created through sports connected us with students, families, educators, coaches, businesses, community leaders, and organizations throughout our region. Those relationships allowed us to see firsthand both the incredible potential of our young people and the barriers that sometimes prevent that potential from being realized.
So we began asking a bigger question: What if we could take the same energy, encouragement, teamwork, and sense of belonging created on the football field and carry it into education, career development, leadership, media, mentorship, and the community? That question helped transform a successful youth sports program into something much larger. It was then that Youth Empowered USA was born.
Today, Youth Empowered USA is being developed as a comprehensive nonprofit organization dedicated to creating opportunities for young people through education, athletics, leadership, technology, media, mentorship, personal development, and community engagement. We aren't interested simply in keeping kids busy. We want to help them discover who they can become.
More Than a Game.
Athletics will always remain an important part of who we are. Our NFL FLAG Football programming introduces young athletes to football while providing an environment designed to develop much more than athletic ability. We want participants to leave our fields with greater confidence, stronger character, meaningful friendships, and lessons that continue long after the final whistle.
As we grow, we're also creating opportunities designed specifically to reach young women. Programs such as NBA – No Boys Allowed combine girls-only NFL FLAG competition with a broader commitment to female empowerment, confidence, leadership, mentorship, and community. The message is simple: Strong Girls. Brighter Futures. Bigger Opportunities. But opportunity shouldn't end when the game ends.
Creating New Paths.
Through the Institute of Media Technologies (IoMT), Youth Empowered USA has opened another door. The Institute introduces high school students to opportunities in sports media, journalism, broadcasting, video production, camera operation, technology, and related careers. By combining education with meaningful hands-on experiences, students aren't simply learning about an industry, they are being given opportunities to participate in it. For many students, discovering something they are passionate about can change the direction of their lives. That's why our vision continues to expand into youth leadership training, motivational and life-skills programming, family and community support, mentorship, career exploration, and educational opportunities designed to meet young people where they are and help them move toward where they want to be.
Empowering the Individual.
Strengthening the Community.
Youth Empowered USA also recognizes that empowering a child requires more than a program... It requires a community. It requires Parents, Coaches, Teachers, Mentors, Volunteers, Businesses, Schools, Municipalities, Community organizations, Sponsors, and people who are willing to invest their time, knowledge, resources, and encouragement in the next generation. Our goal is to bring those people together. We believe successful youth development happens when communities stop asking, “What is someone going to do for these kids?” and begin asking, “What can we do together?” That philosophy is at the heart of Youth Empowered USA.
Louder Than the Negativity.
Our motto says a great deal about who we are. These days young people grow up surrounded by voices telling them what they can't do, what they aren't, where they don't belong, or why they won't succeed. We are driven to provide another voice. A louder voice. A voice that says: You belong here. Your ideas matter. Your future matters. You are capable of more. Keep going.
We don't expect athletics, education, mentorship, or any single program to solve every challenge facing today's young people. But we know what can happen when a young person encounters the right coach, teacher, mentor, opportunity, teammate, classroom, or moment of encouragement at exactly the right time. Sometimes that moment changes everything. Creating more of those moments is why Youth Empowered USA exists.
This is bigger than football. This is bigger than a classroom. This is bigger than any one program. This is about creating opportunities, building confidence, developing leaders, strengthening families and communities. and most importantly, it's about helping young people realize that their future is worth investing in.
